Training
Quality
In a society that
privileges the opposite it is hard but necessary to focus our training
on quality versus quantity. Quality means:
-
Focus on good technique,
which results in more speed and less injuries.
-
Intense enough often
enough.
-
Not too intense
too often.
If you have a limited
amount of time to workout every week quality will give you a maximum benefit
for minimum amount of time.
Over the course
of one week of training, not counting warm-up (15-20 minutes each workout)
and some cool down I try to do:
-
80% of endurance
(60%-70% intensity).
-
15% of active aerobic
work (80% intensity).
-
5% of aerobic threshold
(85-90%) -- This is what raises your VO2max.
